overview
While
Magic Kingdom has nostalgia Islands of Adventure has big,
modern, state of the art rides. Comparing the coasters Space
Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad with The Hulk and
Dueling Dragons
is hard. The two Islands of Adventure coasters are so big,
brash, modern and scary looking that Magic Kingdoms look childish
in comparison.
The extreme rides however dominate Islands Of Adventure. Seven
of the nine headliner attractions are intense thrill rides.
Young children, older adults and nervous people clearly will
get less out of their visit. There is also a great deal of
water in Islands Of Adventure. Many rides leave you soaked
even if they are not clearly water rides. Whether this is
all a plus or a minus depends on what you want out of a theme
park. If you want in your face excitement then Islands of
Adventure is the hot ticket.
There
are great things for children in the park, but they are not
the main attractions. You get three good play parks, and two
child themed areas, Toon Lagoon and Seuss Landing. For very
young children you start to run out of options however, for
them they will have to settle for this being a day for the
rest of the family.
By
being quite different to any other park in Orlando, Islands
Of Adventure could either be at the top of your list or the
bottom depending on what you are looking for. There is however
no doubt that the park is the most modern, with big state
of the art attractions that provide a constantly high level
of intense action packed excitement.
