ITINERARY
Having a plan of action before tackling a theme park makes a lot of sense. Following a plan too closely will however take all the fun out of your day. You are therefore advised to work out which attractions you really want to see and if the list is long try not to get too sidetracked. The itinerary given below should therefore provoke thought and act as a loose guide only.

planning your day
The following are the parks headliner attractions. They are therefore the ones with the longest lines so you should consider always holding a FASTPASS for one of them. Being headliner attractions means they are best seen at the start of the day before the crowds arrive.

1. Kilimanjaro Safaris (Africa)
2. Kali River Rapids (Asia)
3. Dinosaur (DinoLand USA)
4. Festival of the Lion King (Camp Minnie-Mickey)

Firstly, as with all parks in Orlando, you should arrive before the park opens as this is always the least crowded time. It is worth starting at park opening by getting a Kilimanjaro Safari FASTPASS. This is the parks premier attraction so everyone heads straight here. If you get a FASTPASS you can usually get to go straight on the other top attractions while everyone else is either lining up for or riding the safari.

Kali River Rapids is where you should head after getting the safari FASTPASS. You will normally be able to walk straight on. If it is not a crowded day you may also be able to get a second trip on the rapids without having to line up. If you want a another soaking you should go for it, you are already wet at this point!

You should now be able to go and ride Dinosaur by joining the still short line. Depending on what time window you were given on your FASTPASS you should now head back to Africa and either do your safari or get some food at the Harambe Fruit Market or Kusafari Coffee Shop & Bakery while you wait for your timeslot to ride the safari.

After Kilimanjaro Safaris you can go and see what the line and times for the Festival of the Lion King look like. The theater is fairly large which should allow you to get into the next available performance, which other than during lunchtime run close to hourly. Before seeing the Lion King you should get a FASTPASS for It's Tough to be a Bug or Primeval Whirl.

By the time you leave the Lion King show the park will be getting crowded if it is a normal kind of day. This may be a good time to try some of the smaller attractions while you wait for your next FASTPASS slot. Remember the trails involve no lines to see, but on the negative side also get crowded at peak times.

Continue to carry a FASTPASS for any ride you have not yet seen that has the FASTPASS system. The crowds from late morning to virtually park close are usually heavy in Animal Kingdom. You are therefore advised to take it easy in the afternoon taking in the park at a slower pace than the day's start.
