Car
Walt Disney World has three exits off I-4. Having your car
in Orlando is a benefit if you want to do more than Disney.
The transportation to, from and around Disney is efficient
enough otherwise. You will also incur parking fees if you
arrive at any of the theme parks by car (around $6). All Disney
hotels offer free transportation around the Disney parks and
many non Disney hotels offer free transportation to Disney,m
Universal and Sea World. Check with the hotel.
getting from the airport to your hotel
Bus
Public buses operate between the airport and the main terminal
of the Tri-County Transit Authority (1200 W. South St., tel.
407/841-8240), in downtown Orlando. Although the cost is only
75¢, other options are preferable because center-city Orlando
is far from most of the hotels used by theme-park vacationers.
Taxi
Taxis take only a half hour to get from the airport to most
hotels used by Orlando visitors; they charge around $25 plus
tip to the International Drive area, about $35 more to the
Disney World area. Depending on the number of people in your
party, this will be more or less expensive than an airport
shuttle. A Taxi is probably the preferred method for two or
more traveler's considering convenience and cost.
