Big Thunder Mountain Railroad may not have the excitement and intensity
of most roller coasters but it has a lot of charm. The 'runaway train
in a mining town' theme is full of creativity. The waiting line climbs
up and around the mountain with places to see the train zoom pass along
the way. Right next to this ride is Splash Mountain which leads crowding
on most days. Riding before 10am of in the last hour of the day should
help beat the big crowds.
Both
this ride and Splash Mountain are FastPass rides so you can FastPass one
and line up for the other. If the wait time exceeds 30 minutes FastPass
is probaby the best option. The height restriction is 40" and children
under 7 must ride with an adult.
If
you are looking for an intense ride then Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
may not provide the thrill you are looking for. If you want some intensity
and a great theme then Big Thunder Mountain should certainly impress.

I am not a huge coaster fan, but the look of big thunder was not too intimidating. The ride was a lot of fun, not too hard on the twists and turns, but fast enough to be exciting. This is what Disney does well that other parks seem to fail at, rides that are just the right level of excitement for the non-thrill seekers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
