overview
Magic
Kingdom has been updated and added to over its history. Since
first opening in 1971 attractions have be updated, changed,
and added to. Disney have however not allowed the changes
to alter the park to any significant degree allowing nolstagic
return trips to live up to expectations.
What
makes Magic Kingdom stand out from almost all of the other
great theme parks is that almost anyone can ride all the rides.
The intensity level on the parks most intense rides is low.
Space mountain, probably the most extreme ride is very easy
going compared to the coasters at Sea World and Islands of
Adventure for example. This makes Magic Kingdom a park that
all ages can enjoy more fully. In some ways if thrills are
what you want then Magic Kingdom may seem to tame.
Although
other theme parks are slowly catching up they are all still
behind Disney's theming. No-where else do you get a flume
ride with so much to see as you get in Splash Mountain. The
attention to detail at Magic Kingdom is excellent. Rides such
as Pirates of the Caribbean rely hugely on their early Animatronics
and themed sets, but most of the more interactive rides also
keep the high level of theming. The lines generally have plenty
to look at and keep you interested while you wait for example.
It
is hard to say what age enjoys Magic Kingdom the most but
it is likely it is young children. The Disney characters play
a big part in the Magic Kingdom experience, opening the park
at the start of day, appearing in parades and having generally
high visibility. Meeting Mickey Mouse just does not have quite
the same exitement to most teenagers.
